Laparoscopy also called minimally invasive surgery or key hole surgery is commonly performed gynecology procedure to diagnose and treat some abdominal and pelvic conditions.

Procedures
Novasure & Thermachoice Endometrial Ablation
This procedure is used to treat dysfunctional or abnormal uterine bleeding. Endometrial ablation is done in office and takes about 45 minutes.
Essure & Adiana Tubal Sterilization
Tubal sterilization is a permanent form of birth control. After this procedure, eggs cannot move from the ovary through the fallopian tube and eventually to the uterus. Also, sperm cannot reach the egg in the fallopian tube after it is released by the ovary. Thus, pregnancy is prevented.
Mirena IUD
Mirena is a hormone-releasing system placed in your uterus to prevent pregnancy for as long as you want for up to 5 years. Mirena also treats heavy periods in women who choose intrauterine contraception.
Bio-Equivalent Hormone Replacement Therapy
Biologically Equivalent Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT):
Biologically Equivalent Hormone Replacement Therapy is a prescription alternative to conventional hormone replacement therapy. Bio-equivalent medications are plant-derived, and chemically changed in a laboratory until they are identical to what your body would naturally produce. BHRT is customized for each individual and their personal needs. This therapy has been around for the past 70 years and there are many medical articles in medical journals proving the safety and efficacy of estradiol and testosterone implants. Unfortunately, they have never really caught on, in spite of the fact that they represent, so far, the most physiologic, natural form of hormone replacement yet devised. Because these hormones are not patented, there is no financial incentive for pharmaceutical companies to manufacture or market them. Pharmaceutical companies greatly influence medical education which would explain why most physicians do no incorporate it into their practice. Because it is so effective, I believe it will be the preferred method of hormone replacement in the future.
These hormones are inserted in a simple, painless procedure that takes less than 5 minutes right here in the office. The advantage of pellets over pills, patches, creams, gels, and injections is that they are more convenient (they are inserted only 3-4 times a year) and they provide a much more even level of hormone in the blood.
Major side effects of pellet implants are essentially none. Minor side effects are also uncommon however are reported from time to time. An example would be tender breasts or nipples or unwanted hair growth. But these occur in a very small percentage of women and can be remedied.
