- CONSTIPATION
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
- Eat high-fiber foods (bran, whole grains, fresh fruits, raw vegetables, beans and peas).
- Exercise daily.
- Add prune juice or prunes to your diet. They contain a natural laxative.
- Do no take laxatives unless prescribed by your doctor.
- HEARTBURN
- Eat smaller, more frequent meals with only small amounts of fluid.
- Wear comfortable clothes.
- Limit spicy. fatty foods.
- Contact your doctor about the use of antacids.
- Eat Slowly.
- SWELLING
To help prevent swelling:
- Wear comfortable shoes.
- Become more physically active.
- Drink more water.
- Use salt to taste. Severe salt restriction is not recommended.
- Elevate feet whenever possible.
- HEMMORRHOIDS
- Avoid constipation.
- Drink plenty of liquids.
- Limit spicy. fatty foods.
